The shot of the wooden box above the smaller end caps was what confused me most, but invisible joinery was a sticking point, too! Thankful as I am for you putting up all the shots I need, I think I'll be a regular reader! PS My degree is in Design from Drexel U. and my background is in retailing, plus a ton of DIY. I recognize probably way too much... Btw, have you ever tried upholstery? I know your time is limited, but I think you will find that the possibilities it opens, along with creative rewards will be beyond your imaginingskathryn wittehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00799358489599570687noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024778820738888976.post-37402401326015318172013-07-30T02:24:20.161-05:002013-07-30T02:24:20.161-05:00Thank you so very much, Carla. As far as the color for your room, I would keep to the gold white and blues, just add patterned pillows and a throw. The ottoman being red though is a nice pop! I am pinning this because I snagged 2 of these 5 panel doors a couple of months ago ($10 each!!) and have been waiting for a good tutorial for making a headboard out of one! Now all I need is a free weekend and some enthusiasm from my husband. LOL. Thanks so much for sharing this.
For a strong contrast you could do yellow, red or orange pillows. Or for a more subtle contrast how about various shades of blues with different/complimentary prints? It looks great like it is, though.
AngieAngie at Postcards from the Ridgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06575583284282647529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024778820738888976.post-15303725132882101152012-04-23T19:10:38.165-05:002012-04-23T19:10:38.165-05:00I really like what that touch of greenery adds to ...I really like what that touch of greenery adds to the Pottery Barn bedroom. Maybe you could start with something there, and then see how you feel about color. But a nice print on a duvet or quilt could be a great accent piece too. I would go with a color similar to that of vintage jadeite dishes (some of my faves!)... its bright, yet calming and unexpected and it will mesh beautifully with your golden tones (without clashing with your blues and white).Jessicahttp://www.adriftinmythoughts.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4024778820738888976.post-40699797054314024582012-04-23T17:40:45.692-05:002012-04-23T17:40:45.692-05:00Carla, yours looks BETTER than Pottery Barn! I especially love all white bedding with dark wall colors because then there isn't so much competing with color. Does that make sense?
