Random from NYC

I am back in NYC!  For work of course, but I love and appreciate every opportunity I get to travel.  It is a nice detour from the everyday routine, although I am really missing Alex, Rocco and Sadie (not to mention our little 1924 Dutch Colonial)!
So... this is sort of a random post about what I have been up to (because I can't stay away from blogging for too long)...
For the past few days I have been really busy, but fortunate to spend my down time resting in this swanky hotel room! Totally modern and different than our little 1924 Dutch Colonial style, but I guess that makes it kind of fun.
Luckily this hotel has a beautiful view of the Empire State building at night.  Sigh... I love rooftop patios in big cities! It is odd, but the sound of the cars, honks, sirens, and people yelling is kind of neat.  Guess it adds to that New York City atmosphere.

Other than work and the hotel, here are a few highlights of my short visit...

Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry (the tour was sold out for the day, bummer, but the ferry was free!). I have to say this is the first time I have really got to see the Statue of Liberty and I loved it.

Law and Order Criminal Intent was filming outside of our hotel. Yes, I am from Minnesota so things like this are a highlight for me.

Food. Food. Food. Anywhere you go in NYC has fabulous food!  This was a picture from our dinner at Tao, everything was delicious!
Empire State Building outside of the Macy's on 34th Street.
*Oh also, for anyone that is a Real Housewives fan, I saw Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley in our hotel lobby!*

One more day here then back home to my hubby and pups in Minneapolis!  Hope you enjoyed the random update and detour from the normal housework posts! When I get home it will be time to take off the Heels and get some Hammers swinging...... I think I'm beginning to have withdrawals.

  2. The Gansevoort in Midtown (or by Midtown, not the Meatpacking District). Super fancy pants hotel!
