I can't believe it, Alex and I will be going on a BIG vacation towards the end of this summer!
Where will my high heels be headed to????
EUROPE
(subtle shrieking and squeals of delight) (if you have read our blog for a while you already know we love the Griswolds)
We will be heading to London, Paris, and Split! Split is in Croatia in case you wondered about that one :) Alex's family is Croatian so we thought it would be a great experience to soak up some of the Croatian culture (and their beautiful beaches along the Adriatic Sea).

I am soooo excited for this trip! It will be our first big trip out of the states together. Planning this trip was a bit tricky since we will be bouncing around to a few places. Not gonna lie- it was a TON of work and a lot of research went in to this... I'm so glad we're finally done with that part! Equally as tricky was lining up a house and dog sitter for Rocco and Sadie (not many people wanted to watch our crazy little kiddos). But thankfully we got that taken care of too. Now our house and pups will be in good hands while we are on our trip!
Alex and I have been talking about this trip ever since we started dating, I am so happy that our dream is finally going to be real! We are definitely due for a nice vacation after everything we have been through from the tornado damage and repairs. We are still a while out from actually going on this trip, so I am still hopeful our house will be fixed before we go halfway around the world (ahem, insurance hurry the heck up). I have to admit, I don't think I will be able to relax and enjoy myself if I am worried about that stupid tarp on our house.
I can't wait to start packing!!! Is it crazy to start packing for a trip that is a couple months away??? LOL!
If you have traveled to London, Paris, or Split, we would love to hear your travel recommendations! Of course we will be hitting all of the historic and tourist-y locations, but we'd love any tips you have or even restaurants we should hit! Please, please, please comment away!
Yay for London, Paris and Split! My husband and I just got back from London and Dublin, but I've been to Paris before too. My best advice for Paris is to climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe at sunset if possible. It's much less crowded than the Eiffel Tower, but still an amazing view. Plus you get to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up. I loved Saint Chappell better than Notre Dame (again, less crowded and the windows are amazing). We did the museum pass, which was cheaper than doing the museums individually, but we also got a bit tired of museums by the end. My advice for London is to go to Harrods just for the experience. You're going to have so much fun!
ReplyDeleteHi my name is Tamela Scholma, I work with your sister Holly at school. I went to England as a senior in high school. In London you should definately do the following:
ReplyDeleteRide a double decker bus and the underground "Mind the Gap"!
Go to Madame Tussand's Wax Museum - full of life sized figures of celebrities including the Queen (good photo opp. because the figures are so life like)
Trafalgar Square - in the center of London with tons of lion statues.
The Globe Theatre - where Shakespeare put on his plays.
St. Paul's Cathedral
Castles: Orford, Framlingham, and Warwick.
Have a great time! I would have loved to go to Paris too, you are so lucky!
Hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming vacation! :o)

Wow, that's AWESOME!! I've never been to any of those places but I'm sure it will be amazing! Oh and BTW, we LOVE the Griswolds at our house too! We pop in Christmas Vacation around November and don't stop watching it until the day after Christmas, haha!! I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation!!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to Paris in October so I can't wait to hear about your trip!
ReplyDeleteAwesome thanks for all the comments so far! PS I noticed I spelled bonjour wrong in the title whoops! That was embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteonly just found you through another blog - i'm hooked already!!!
ReplyDeletehope you have an amazing trip in europe. love love love it!!!!
cheryl xox.
YAAAAAY!!!! SO fun.
ReplyDeleteWell first of all, check out the hotel that I posted today. It's RIDICULOUS. Splurge on a night or at least go for breakfast and just check out the main areas. SO freaking gorgeous. You could definitely use it as an excuse to wear some nice heels and a cute dress. Though in Paris you don't really need an excuse :)
The first ever Louboutin store is in Paris, so you'd probably like that. And Coco Chanel's original apartment that she used to sew out of is pretty near there too, though you can only see it from the outside.
Galeries Layfaette is a stunning department store, though it's better to just go and look at the architecture than to actually shop there. It's a nightmare. They have a huge selection of designer shoes though.
Last but not least, DRINK CHAMPAGNE!!!!! For every meal, at every occasion!!!!
I'm SO excited for you!
