Head Over Heels Friday.........?

Instead of a regular "Head Over Heels" post today, I was hoping to get a little help or advice from you folks out there regarding the series.  Sound okay with you?  I hope so!  Here's what I'm wondering about...

It was a little over a year ago when I decided to start this weekly series (see that post here).   The basic idea was that I'd be able to write about things I felt inspired or excited about during the week outside of our house and DIY projects.  Since then, I've written 64 Head Over Heels posts about anything from shoes, projects, other bloggers, shopping trips, dates, holidays, fashion, our dogs, wedding decor, games, pop culture, etc. When I look back, there are a lot of posts I really love and some that are pretty crappy... I can't lie

The thing is, I love that the series gives me a reason to blog about something random if I want but I never want it to sound random or strange.  With that said, I'd love to ask what you think the series should be or what would make it better.  Here's a few questions to start...

Are there certain topics I should stick to for the series?
Which posts from the series do you like or remember because they were interesting?
Would these posts be more fun if they were linky parties where others can share what they love that week too?

*Kindly* share your thoughts!  I certainly will appreciate any and all feedback :)
Have a great weekend!!!

  1. I say keep it random - we all need a little wiggle room in our blogging life to write about something that is slightly different than what we usually write about.

  2. Write what you like. If people are only interested in certain topics, they'll kind of learn your blogging habits and not concentrate on the head over heels friday posts. But it's your blog. Do what you like.

  3. I really enjoy the posts, the more random the better. And I would link up if you made it like that, but either way, I like it!

  4. I love your blog for following your home renovations, but the head over heals part is a bit of a glimpse in to your personality, I say go with it it seems the consensus is positive.

    1. That's a fun way of looking at it that I hadn't considered :) keeping it fun & more personal is maybe more of what I should shoot for?

  5. I like the idea of still blogging about whatever inspires you every week. I've never thought anything was too boring, and when you think about it, it really is your blog, who cares what we want ;) I also like the linky party idea. That way, we can all see who all likes your blog and what inspires them. It gives you a chance to see who all is your audience too !

  6. I think you should have a "Carpooler Corner" post every now and then about your carpooling escapades. :)

  10. OK...I'll be the proverbial "wet blanket". Your title has "hammers" in it, so I think it should stick to your DIY/decorating "escapades". Your personality shines through there as brightly as it does on any of the other posts. I don't care what shoes you have on or what other bloggers are doing. I come to your site to see what YOU are doing. I love/enjoy seeing what you do in your house!
Don't mean to be rude...I'll step down off my soap box now.

    1. Thank you for your honesty and it certainly wasn't rude :) What you wrote is kind of what I wondered about, like do most people want me to stick to DIY-ing/ home related things, makes sense since that is what our blog is mainly about and why it has grown. Anyway, your comment has been noted regarding the future! Thank you!

  11. Definitely love the random... when it's the holidays for instance, I love to see what other people do to get into the spirit & decorate... you would still be incorporating things about your home into it, but adding your personality and inspiration to the blog, also!! You're doing a great job (yours is one of the few blogs I remember to check frequently for fab ideas)! Keep it up, Carla!
