Minor Detour... I'm Heading to China Today!

Nǐ hǎo (Hello)...still practicing... Me and my high heels are headed to China today! This means we will have a little detour in our home renovation posts (but thankfully we got that antique stool done before I headed out)! We try to stick to posting mainly about our home and projects, but since I am going half way around the world I would love to share a little bit about the experience!
So where in China exactly? I'll be in Shanghai, located on the east tip of the Yangtze River Delta and halfway along China's eastern coastline. The purpose of my trip is for work, so sadly I have to leave Alex and the pups at home (boo). But who knows, maybe Alex will surprise me again while I am away (hint, hint) and do a little work on the house!
I am more than thrilled to be going on this trip for professional reasons, but personally it also means so much to me. It is a part of the world I never really thought I'd get to see.

Shanghai is one of the most populated cities in the world being home to 20,000,000 people-WOW!  The architecture is supposed to be amazing ranging from traditional Jaingnan style, neoclassical, art deco, and ultra modern skycrapers. I'm hoping to get a little glimpse of what homes or decor are like for people living in Shanghai. I know I am going to be busy, but I am looking forward to seeing as much as I can in the few days that I am there.
Google Image of the Bund in Shanghai- definitely hope I get to see this for myself.

I can't wait to take in all the sites and culture! I also hope I can find some amazing items shopping in the markets- I will be sure to share those, and I also hear that shopping in the market can be quite crazy!  I'm unsure about how many times I will have internet access, but I hope to write at least 2-3 posts while I am there so I can share the adventures!

Wish me luck, I am a little nervous about the 16 hour flight, ick! Zài jiàn (Goodbye) for now!
