Four years ago today, Alex and I began our journey as husband and wife...
Given this being a day that Alex and I celebrate our commitment, I naturally had to dig something sentimental out and ended up finding our wedding ceremony outline/script. Now I know, maybe that's kind of weird, Alex even rolled his eyes at me :) Anyway... I read through the "Meaning of Marriage" that was read during our ceremony-
Marriage is a commitment to life, the best that two people can find and bring out in each other. It offers opportunities for sharing and growth that no other relationship can equal (....) Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life. Happiness is fuller, memories are fresher, commitment is stronger, even anger is felt more strongly, and passes away more quickly. Marriage understands and forgives the mistakes life is unable to avoid. It encourages and nurtures new life, new experiences, and new ways of expressing a love that is deeper than life (...) Marriage is a promise, a potential made in the hearts of two people who love each other, and takes a lifetime to fulfill.
I can't recall my thoughts or interpretation regarding the "Meaning of Marriage" on our wedding day or leading up to it, but reading through it today having experienced four years of marriage I guess it just felt even more meaningful.

I feel truly thankful for my husband, our marriage, and believe it is the greatest blessing I've been given in life- and we're only four years in with a lifetime full of dreams and new adventures left to go....
That is totally worth celebrating, cheers!
How true on "Meaning of Marriage"! Congrats on four years!
